When operational concerns arose, the Vicksburg Port Commission requested that ABMB perform an immediate inspection of the facility.   ABMB identified several components that were heavily damaged and needed immediate attention and findings showed that the existing 50’ x 150’ structure T portion of the dock of the required complete replacement.
ABMB prepared documents for reconstruction of the T portion of the dock along with improvements to the components to remain.  After the project was awarded for construction, ABMB administered the construction administration services to the client.  The new structure foundation and fender pile system consisted of 130-ft long spiral welded pipes, the longest pile length of this type made to date.   An innovative access structure was installed on the side of the dock that is used to access barges during loading and unloading operations.  Several aspects of this project were those that ABMB hadn’t faced but was able to successfully complete.
