The large expansion for BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana’s headquarters

The large expansion for BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) of Louisiana’s headquarters represents another impressive example of ABMB’s ability to provide 360-degree assistance to its clients. Our firm oversaw the entire development process―early master planning and permitting, design of the 76,000 square foot building, traffic analysis and mitigation and sewer and infrastructure relocations and upgrades. ABMB also provided roadway and drainage plans for Groner Avenue, which required a relocation. A particular element of the site was the surrounding water features. This part of the project required earthwork analysis for all building and parking additions, wetland delineation, negotiation with off-site borrow sources, and permitting through the Army Corps of Engineers.

The client returned to ABMB multiple times as the needs of the BCBS campus changed and expanded. The company recently sought to improve a triangular segment of the property in a particularly low elevation below the 100-year floodplain. ABMB provided further floodplain mitigation, earthwork, and drainage improvements.
