At
ABMB, we view high-quality surveying as the cornerstone of
all our work—which is why we have made it one of our
specialties. Our highway, site civil, bridge/structural,
and civil works designs often depend on a detailed, accurate
survey—which means you can’t be deterred by rugged
terrain or swampy ground. To put it simply, nothing
fazes our surveyors when it comes to capturing topographical
data and using it to create maps and populate GIS systems.
But we also have a reputation for taking on survey jobs
that are challenging in their own right. The Barataria
Basin Freshwater Diversion is a case in point. No one
had ever attempted to create such a detailed survey of a
large freshwater marsh, especially as the forest canopy made
using standard GPS techniques impossible. We literally
had to put together a combination of techniques, each one
appropriate to a specific situation, that together would
produce the survey data the job required.
In fact, the Barataria project highlights a few things worth
knowing about ABMB surveying. First, we aren’t
intimidated by challenging jobs. Second, we’re
not afraid to admit that they may keep us up at night. And
third, we have the depth of experience and the range of techniques
to pull them off and pull them off well.
